Essex Finalizes Sales of Two South Side Multifamily Properties

Chicago-based multifamily brokerage firm Essex Realty Group, Inc. has facilitated the sale of two apartment buildings in Chicago’s Chatham and Brainerd Neighborhoods.

Essex’s Berman – Anguiano Team of Robert Berman, Michael Anguiano, Daniel Shabsin, Jeremy DeMarco, and Joe Kahlhammer, exclusively represented both private sellers. “We were able to procure multiple competitive bids from both local and out-of-state investors, successfully navigate the escrow process, and bring both transactions to a close,” said Berman

These transactions include the sale of 8503 S. Drexel Avenue, a 12-unit apartment building and 9401 S. Ashland Avenue, a 34-unit apartment building. Drexel, built in 1928, features nine one-bedroom/one-bath units and three two-bedroom/one-bath units. Ashland, built in 1930, features twelve studio units, sixteen one-bedroom/one-bath units, and six commercial spaces.
