Texas A&M Starts Work on $43M STEM Center

The Texas A&M University System has broken ground on the new $43.3 million STEM Education Center at the RELLIS campus in Bryan.

The 50,000-square-foot building will have spaces designated for work on machines, woodshop, digital projects, 3D printing, and augmented reality work. The first floor will be primarily for students and university industry partners to work on large projects, allowing in-depth collaborations. 

The Bryan-College Station Eagle reports all A&M System universities and eight state agencies will have a space in the new building as the second and third floors are designed to have suite spaces. A&M’s Semiconductor Institute will be housed in the building until its own building opens in 2027.

The project is funded through Capital Construction Assistance Projects, a $3.3 billion fund allocated for higher education projects throughout Texas.

The building is expected to be open for the fall 2025 semester.
