S. Dallas’s RedBird Mall Showing Progress
Like a number of malls throughout the United States, the RedBird in southern Dallas is undergoing a near complete facelift. It was getting older and suffered through the slump caused by Covid.
Now construction on a Tom Thumb grocery store is just months away from getting started and a number of other redevelopment measures are underway. The Dallas Business Journal reports that RedBird’s developer, Peter Brodsky, has attracted other tenants such as Dallas College, Chime Solutions and the DEC Network. Upcoming tenants include Children’s Health, which is building a 71,700-square-foot clinic, and Dallas nonprofit Crossroads Community Services, which is opening a nutrition pharmacy.
The developers also plan to commence renovations on the west side of the mall, which will house Dallas nonprofit Vogel’s 15,000-square-foot childcare facility and additional tenants such as a gym and salon suite. Work on the west side will include a new façade with windows and storefronts, allowing for exterior-facing business, as well as office space on the second floor.
