Mortenson Readies to Break Ground on Oregon Ballpark

Developer Mortenson is gearing up to break ground on a new ballpark development in Hillsboro, Oregon. The Hillsboro Hops minor league baseball club, still seeking full funding for a new ballpark, received an $8 million commitment from Washington County, Oregon.

The ballpark will be designed and built to accommodate a year-round outdoor entertainment venue, including Hops home baseball games, concerts, festivals, community events, and amateur baseball games. The stadium will host 6,000 people for baseball games and 7,000 for concerts and other community events, and the new ballpark will create a regional entertainment destination.

The city of Hillsboro will own the new ballpark, which will span five acres across several fields within the existing Gordon Faber Recreation Complex. The Hops will be responsible for all ballpark expenses, including utilities and maintenance.
