  • Construction industry veteran Helena P. Finley has been named Managing Director and Executive Vice President for EMBREY, a vertically integrated real estate investment company based in San Antonio. In her new role, Finley is responsible for leading and conducting oversight for all multifamily residential and commercial buildings in EMBREY’s multistate market portfolio. She will manage projects throughout Texas, Colorado, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, and Arizona, overseeing more than 760 subcontractors and vendor partners while directing more than 140 construction field and corporate employees. 
  • St. John Properties, Inc. has acquired a 50-acre parcel in Leander, Texas, about 20 miles north of Austin, with intentions to develop an eight-building, 270,000-square-foot mixed-use business community including flex/R&D, retail space and three pad sites. Ground-breaking for the first phase of development at Leander Tech Park will include two buildings offering a combined nearly 90,000 square feet of flex/R&D space is expected to occur late this year with delivery expected in the third quarter of 2025.
  • AOG Living has broken ground on The Evergreen at Whisper Valley, the first multifamily development within the 2,067-acre, master-planned community of Whisper Valley in East Austin, Texas. Developed by Taurus Investment Holdings, the 348-unit, Class A community is targeted to open in the spring of 2025.  Cadence Bank is financing the Evergreen at Whisper Valley. 
  • Hines has unveiled plans to deliver two new Class-A self-storage facilities, Custer Self-Storage in Frisco, Texas, and Jupiter Self-Storage in Garland, Texas, later this year. Custer Self-Storage in Frisco is a two-story building offering 76,675 net rentable square feet and 709 climate-controlled units. Jupiter Self-Storage in Garland consists of two buildings, each with three stories, offering 90,650 net rentable square feet of 100% climate-controlled storage space. 
  • Megacrete, a joint venture between Litecrete and Aercon, has chosen Kerrville for its new $40 million, 120,000-sf U.S. headquarters. It will add 40 permanent jobs with salaries over $54,000. The city is expecting a $58 million economic investment from Megaacrete. The company secured $1.2 million in incentives offered in the form of a land grant from Kerrville’s Economic Improvement Corporation, with the city and Kerr County pledging an additional combined $1.7 million in incentives.
