Vertical Cold Storage buys Burleson facility

Vertical Cold Storage Picks Second DFW Facility

A subsidiary of Platform Ventures has acquired a 400,000-square-foot cold storage facility in Burleson. The Dallas Business Journal reports the cost to build the unit was $50 million. The Platform Ventures operating unit, Vertical Cold Storage, has another DFW location. The company says it picked up the new facility to improve the company’s storage capacity for its customers.

The property is adjacent to I-35 with an average clear height of 55 feet and 53 dock doors. It will feature multiple rooms convertible to -20 degrees Fahrenheit. The new warehouse will employ up to 70 full-time workers.

The facility was developed by a joint venture of Austin-based Yukon Ventures and Saxum Real Estate of Summit, New Jersey.

Vertical Cold Storage, founded in 2020, has facilities in Texas, Illinois, Nebraska, North Carolina, Florida and Indiana, along with a Kansas City project now being built.

Platform Ventures says it manages more than $3.1 billion in assets.
