16 Pickleball Courts Slated for Cornelius

The Pickleball craze shows no sign of abating. The Serve Pickleball + Kitchen is seeking rezoning approval for a $15-plus million project in Cornelius, north of Charlotte.

DB Entertainment Real Estate Management looks to rezone a 6.39-acre parcel adjacent to the Magnolia Estates neighborhood. That property is currently vacant. Plans call for a 51,086-square-foot facility. It would have 16 pickleball courts, including six outdoors. There would be a pro shop as well as a pickleball professional to hold camps and lessons.

A restaurant, café, bar, and lounge will also be available for all-day use by the community. There will be four Top Golf Swing Suites as well. The Serve will create up to 30 immediate jobs, with plans to grow to 70 at full utilization.

Spectrum Builders will be the general contractor on the project. Praxis3 serves as the architect, while ESP is the engineer.
