45-Story Tower Planned for N. Austin
Turnbridge Equities and the Burt Group are looking at building a 45-story tower that would include an estimated 825 apartments in the North Burnet neighborhood, within sight of Q2 Stadium. The Austin Business Journal reports the Austin Planning Commission on Feb. 13 recommended that City Council approve the rezoning. A date for City Council consideration hasn’t been set.
Turnbridge is calling it the project Q2 Stadium Assemblage; the site currently includes four office buildings comprising 175,000 square feet. It also includes another 8.5-acre tract to the south, currently encompassing four commercial buildings on Donley Drive.
The Travis Central Appraisal District values the two sites combined at just under $43 million.
Turnbridge has been involved with multiple properties across Austin in recent years, including a recently completed CitizenM downtown hotel and the $55 million Music Lane development on South Congress Avenue that’s home to Nike, Alo Yoga and French luxury goods company Hermes.
Register today for Connect Phoenix Multifamily & Single-Family Build-to-Rent, scheduled for April 18 at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, Scottsdale, AZ.
