Rosslyn Office Building Sold for $100M+ Loss
The Xerox building at 1616 N. Fort Myer Drive in Rosslyn, Virginia, was sold for $25 million, reported on Washington Business Journal. The buyer, an affiliate of Dreyfuss Holdings, acquired the property. TIAA paid $145 million for the 19-story office building in 2011.
The property, once known as the Rosslyn Overlook, was originally developed by the Gould family in 1974 and was later sold to Beacon Capital Partners in 2007. TIAA and Nuveen filed plans in 2021 for a mixed-use redevelopment, including a 691-unit apartment building, but the site plan is currently on hold. Dreyfuss is now evaluating options for the property.
“It’s a great asset to hold long term,” said J.R. Schuble, Dreyfuss president. “We think Rosslyn has a lot of potential.”
