H-E-B Continues Dallas-Area March
A planned Melissa store will be the San Antonio-based grocer’s fifth DFW project. Opening is expected in summer 2025. Besides the planned Melissa location, H-E-B has added stores in Frisco, Plano, McKinney and Allen.
The Melissa location, north of McKinney on the outskirts of Collin County, is expected to be 131,000 square feet, which is slightly bigger than the company’s other stores in North Texas. Plans for the one-story building also call for 24,000 square feet of attached retail space outside the store, including a pharmacy and a True Texas BBQ restaurant, each with a drive-thru.
The new store is projected to cost more than $42 million and employ about 600 people. H-E-B is the largest privately held employer in Texas. H-E-B has more than 430 stores and 155,000 employees in Texas and Mexico.
