Wells Fargo Hosts Grand Opening for River North Branch
Wells Fargo hosted a grand opening yesterday for a new River North bank branch, which is the first branch in the company’s announced expansion.

Wells Fargo plans to grow its footprint in the Chicago area from seven to approximately 30 branches over the next several years, including locations in the Bronzeville and Bridgeport neighborhoods. The expansion is part of the company’s $175 million commitment to the region, which is expected to create nearly 200 job opportunities.
The 2,600-square-foot River North branch is located at 33 W. Chicago Avenue, and the new space is designed and built to LEED standards. Compared to conventional commercial buildings, this branch includes energy-saving lighting with the use of LED lights, low-flow water fixtures and building materials composed of recycled content and cradle-to-cradle materials.
