SeaWorld Orlando Building Long-Awaited Hotel

Investor calls from the publicly-traded SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. (NYSE: SEAS) dating all the way back to November of 2015 have mentioned potential resort locations at several of the SeaWorld parks. There might be a breakthrough on the hotel front, when it comes to Sea World in Orlando.

While details are scant, SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. has filed a development plan with Orange County to construct a 504-room hotel on 29.92 acres. SeaWorld is the only major theme park in Orlando without its own hotel property. The South Florida Business Journal reports experts have said hotels are big revenue generators for theme parks, as well as strategic moves for theme parks to have more say on visitation and travel packages.

Three parcels of land that primarily front the northwest corner of Central Florida Parkway and International Drive make up the land designated in the application.
