Rehabilitated Mixed-Use Buffalo Building Opens

Frizlen Group and BRD Construction have opened the doors to the Barcalo Buffalo Living & Commerce. The project converted a historic industrial manufacturing facility, located at 225 Louisiana Street in Buffalo’s Old First Ward, into 116 mixed-use units with nearly 34,000 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor. Chase provided the tax credit equity investment to support the rehabilitation of the development.

“It’s an honor to support The Frizlen Group and BRD Construction with the rehabilitation of the Barcalo Complex, which will transform a historic building in the community for modern use,” said Tim Karp, head of Historic Tax Credits at Chase. “The much anticipated rehabilitation is bringing 116 units of housing and ground floor commercial space in an area ripe with opportunity for development and we can’t wait to see the doors open for the Buffalo community.”
