- Lorie Soares Lazarus and Peter David Ballance have joined Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP as partners in the Real Estate, Energy, Land Use & Environmental practice group in Silicon Valley and Century City, respectively. They were most recently at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP.
- The board of directors at Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. has elected Sheila K. McGrath as an independent director. The board has also appointed McGrath to serve as a member of the Life Science, Agtech & Advanced Technologies Committee. Her term will run until the company’s 2024 annual meeting of stockholders.
- Hanley Investment Group Real Estate Advisors raised $33,639 for Movember in the month of November. This marks the 13th consecutive year that Hanley Investment Group has joined the global movement to raise awareness and critical funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. The company has raised a total of $368,039 since initiating the campaign in 2011.
- LPA Design Studios announced the upcoming retirement of longtime president Dan Heinfeld, who led the Irvine-based firm’s growth from a small, commercial development-focused architecture studio into a nationwide integrated design practice. During Heinfeld’s 37 years as president, he made sustainability a core part of the firm’s ethos long before it was mainstream, illustrating that designers could significantly reduce energy use on a large scale, across project types.
- Nous Engineering has added two new principals: Jeff Roi, who joins Nous from Degenkolb, and Jon Buckley, joining from Miyamoto. Together, they add expertise across various market sectors. Roi joins the Los Angeles office and Buckley will help grow the newly established San Diego office.
- Hudson Pacific Properties, Inc. said it has been recognized again as a leader in sustainability by key industry organizations and ranking systems including the GRESB Real Estate Assessment, Nareit Leader in the Light Awards, ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Awards, Newsweek’s America’s Most Responsible Companies and S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook. Separately, the Los Angeles-based REIT said that Michael Nash has been appointed to its board of directors effective Jan. 1, 2024. Nash will succeed outgoing board member Richard “Rocky” Fried, who will retire from the company’s board at year-end.
- Los Angeles-based Cove Capital Investments, LLC, a DST sponsor company, said its Cove Essential Net Lease 58 DST, a regulation D Rule 506c Delaware Statutory Trust offering, is fully subscribed. The total amount of equity raised for the offering was $11,074,616.
- Synergy Global Housing, a San Ramon-based serviced accommodation program management firm, and Primestone Partners, a New York-based, advisory and housing solutions firm, have entered into a definitive agreement under which Synergy will acquire Primestone Housing Solutions for an undisclosed amount. Primestone Housing Solutions, which arranges extended-stay housing for corporate clients, is one of three businesses operated by parent company Primestone Partners.
