Subtext Breaks Ground on Indiana Student Housing Development
Subtext, a national real estate company, has launched its second property at Purdue University. Along with Brinkmann Constructors, the firm recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for a 245,700-square-foot student living project at 143 W Wood Street in downtown West Lafayette, Indiana.
Located just outside the southeastern end of campus, the 143-unit, 449-bed new student housing development will offer a mix of studio, one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom units. The community sits on a 1.43-acre site with 156 parking spaces. This new development comes as Purdue navigates student housing needs as the campus reached a record enrollment of 52,211 students, marking the university’s ninth-straight record high.
Designed by ESG Architecture and Design, a Minneapolis-based architecture firm, the building features more than 15,000 square feet of total amenity space focused on student well-being. The expansive facility will feature a wide array of modern amenities, including a coffee bar, club room, study rooms, and a fitness center.
