Worcester Landmark to Become Affordable Housing

WinnDevelopment plans to transform the historic Worcester Boys Club building and property into 80 affordable apartment homes for adults aged 55 and older.

The project will combine the preservation and renovation of the 93-year-old Boys Club building with a new five-story apartment building, providing a range of affordable housing options.

Funding for the project comes from various sources, including the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, MassDevelopment’s Underutilized Property Program, and federal and state Historic Tax Credits. The project’s total construction cost is estimated to be $52 million, with financing expected to close in the first quarter of 2024.
