- Stockbridge announces Jon Thompson has joined the firm as managing director, based in Denver. Thompson will be responsible for leading capital raising, marketing and product development for the firm’s core and value advisors business. Before joining San Francisco-based Stockbridge, Thompson most recently served as director at DWS Group. Thompson has led and participated in capital raising and product development for other firms including RREEF, Apollo and Black Creek Group.
- McCullough, an award-winning landscape and urban design firm, has expanded its presence in the Los Angeles area. The San Diego-based firm has added associate landscape designer Kira Becker to the Los Angeles team. In addition, the San Diego office additions include Olivia Wax as junior associate, Bianca Zeto as project accountant, Lindsey Bonjean as office administrator and Haya Abboodi as intern.
- Los Angeles County is partnering with the Weingart Center Association to repurpose a Baldwin Park hotel into 107 studio apartments for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, thanks to a new round of Homekey 3.0 grants announced by the State of California, plus funding from the County of Los Angeles, City of Baldwin Park, L.A. Care Health Plan and Health Net.
- EAH Housing, one of the largest and most respected nonprofit housing development and management organizations in the western U.S., was selected as a recipient of a $7.5-million grant from the Capital Magnet Fund (CMF). The CMF supports affordable housing initiatives for low-, very low-, and extremely low-income families.
- The California Association of Community Managers is rolling out a new Certification Program tailored to the industry’s service providers. The new designation, California Certified Industry Partner (CCIP), will be awarded to individuals who complete the coursework and other requirements.
- SmartStop Self Storage REIT, Inc. opened an approximately 78,000-square-foot storage facility in San Gabriel. The newly converted industrial property is a three-story building with approximately 790 units, drive-up access, climate control and video surveillance.
- San Francisco-based Anyplace, a short-term rental company specializing in remote work-friendly accommodations complete with high-speed internet and efficient office setups, completed its $10.27 million Series B funding round. An equity raise of $8.27 million complemented $2 million in debt from Silicon Valley Bank.
