Chicago Executive Airport Getting 25-Acre Hangar Development
Sky Harbour Group has announced the development of a Home Base campus at Chicago Executive Airport (PWK). The medium-sized airport is ten miles north of O’Hare Chicago O’Hare International Airport and accepts nearly 100,000 aircraft annually.
The 25-acre Sky Harbour campus will be built in three phases and is expected to create hundreds of local jobs and generate $550 million in economic benefits. The first phase of the project will include seven to eight hangars, offices and space for ground support equipment over 130,000 square feet.
The campus will offer “the best home base in business aviation” to house approximately twenty of the Chicago area’s top corporate and privately-owned business jets in private hangars, with services dedicated exclusively to based tenants. The Chicago campus will be Sky Harbour’s seventh location, with existing hangars completed or under development in Houston, Nashville, Miami, Denver, Phoenix and Dallas.
