WeWork Names David Tolley Permanent CEO

WeWork has appointed David Tolley as its new CEO. Tolley, who was serving as interim CEO, is tasked with leading WeWork through its tumultuous times. During his interim role, Tolley executed significant cost-saving measures, including renegotiating office leases, which boosted WeWork’s stock by 9%. Tolley stated that these actions were aimed at achieving profitability and long-term member service.

Tolley, who joined WeWork’s board of directors in February 2023, brings a wealth of experience, having served as the CFO for various organizations, including Intelsat S.A. and OneWeb. WeWork has faced financial turbulence, having recently skipped interest payments to lenders and receiving a delisting warning from the NYSE. S&P Global Ratings also downgraded its credit rating.
