RMR Completes DC Office Conversion

The RMR Group has completed the redevelopment of 20 Massachusetts Avenue NW (20 Mass) in Washington, D.C., and received the Best Renovation award from NAIOP DC|MD.

The project involved the conversion of a former government office building into a mixed-use property, which now includes 13,800 square feet of retail space, a 274-key luxury Royal Sonesta hotel, 183,000 square feet of office space, and a 14,500 square foot penthouse amenity space with views of the Capitol.

The property is owned by Office Properties Income Trust (Nasdaq: OPI) and managed by The RMR Group. CBRE is the exclusive office leasing broker at 20 Mass, while JLL is responsible for retail leasing. It is currently 54% leased to Sonesta International Hotels Corporation. It’s also LEED Gold and WELL certified, featuring sustainable and tech-forward components.
