San Antonio Builder Plans Westover Hills Project
Sure, interest rates are high, but the San Antonio Business Journal reports building costs have gone down enough for one apartment developer to stay in the game. Casey Development’s Drew Caraway says, “We’re seeing some relief on that side as far as material pricing and labor pricing. It’s kind of softened over the past six to nine months.”
Casey is planning to add 360 apartment units in the Westover Hills area. It will be located at the intersection of Lakeside Parkway and Ingram Road, near the Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa, Lackland AFB, Port San Antonio, and Methodist Healthcare’s newest 74-acre medical campus.
Half will be one-bedroom units the rest will be split among studios, two and three-bedroom units. The firm is targeting a Q1 2024 start. Casey is pushing for a 2026 finish for all units.
Dallas-based Humphreys and Partners Architects is leading the design. The company will use its in-house contractor on the build.
