- Buc-ee’s plans to break ground on its Amarillo location on Oct. 26. The 74,000-square-foot travel center will be at 9900 E. Interstate 40. It will offer 108 fueling positions and 24 electric vehicle charging stations. The Amarillo location is expected to create at least 200 full-time jobs.
- Three investment firms will develop The Flynn at Live Oak, a 327-unit multifamily project in Dallas. Conor Commercial Real Estate, Globe Corp. and Origin Investments will team up to helm the project, which will include a five-story building that will feature studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans and amenities such as a pool, coworking spaces, a mini-mart, two courtyards and a dog park. The first apartments are slated for a spring 2025 delivery.
- Houston-based architectural firms RDLR Architects and W Squared Architects have merged. RDLR Architects, which has been operating in Houston for over four decades, is primarily known for its work on public projects. W Squared Architects has designed projects for clients from industries including multifamily, office, retail, hospitality and more.
- Michael Dardick, Founding Partner & CEO of Granite Properties, will transition to Executive Chairman and current Senior Managing Director and Dallas market leader, Will Hendrickson, will become Granite’s CEO, effective January 1, 2024. Granite Properties is a privately held commercial real estate investment, development and management company founded in 1991. The firm owns 12 million square feet of high-quality office space in Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Denver, Southern California, Boston and Nashville.
