Dana-Farber to Build $1.7B Longwood Cancer Facility
Dana-Farber Cancer Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center are planning to build a new cancer facility in Boston’s Longwood Medical Area, with an estimated cost of $1.68 billion. Reported by Boston Business Journal.
The proposed facility would cover approximately 688,100 square feet and include a 300-bed adult inpatient hospital. It would also involve the construction of a tunnel under and a bridge over Brookline Avenue to connect the new building to Dana-Farber’s existing facility.
The project aims to expand the availability of adult cancer care services and would relocate Dana-Farber’s existing 30 inpatient beds from its current location at 75 Francis St. The plan is subject to regulatory approval.
