Vista picks St. Augustine hotel for $11.5M

St. Augustine Hotel Picked by Vista Hospitality

He hasn’t said what brand will be applied to his new hotel purchase. Hotelier Kanti Pater has taken over the Castillo Real Hotel at 530 A1A Beach Blvd in St. Augustine Beach. The currently unbranded hotel was part of Choice Hotels at one point.

Patel paid $11.5 million for the property. The seller was MSB Hotels III LLC. That company had owned the property since 2016, buying it for $10.25 million.

The Miami Business Journal reports Patel is perhaps the most prominent hotelier in the St. Augustine area. He recently developed the Renaissance St. Augustine Historic Downtown Hotel across from the downtown parking garage. His company, Vista Hospitality, has 12 other hotels in St. Augustine and Jacksonville.
