Alpaca Launches Private Equity RE Platform 

Alternative investments management firm Alpaca has introduced Alpaca Real Estate (ARE), led by co-founders Daniel Carr and Peter Weiss. The platform’s inaugural real estate offering is supported by capital from GCM Grosvenor, representing multiple investors.  

ARE plans to leverage its industry expertise and strategic relationships to identify opportunities in the real estate market, particularly in sectors affected by capital market dislocations. “Today’s reset real estate market creates a prime opportunity for a cycle-tested team to establish a platform with dry powder and without any legacy asset management issues,” said Carr. 

The team will focus on investments requiring recapitalization, repositioning, strategic capital, physical transformation, and the application of technology and operational enhancements to enhance efficiency and generate incremental returns. Alpaca aims to combine real estate returns with technology-driven overlays to provide value to institutional investors.
