Mariner's Cove Marina bought by Sentex for $4M

Sentex Buys Gulfport Marina, Has Bigger Fish to Fry

Suntex Marinas paid $4 million for Mariner’s Cove Marina in Gulfport, but the company has much larger plans in nearby St. Petersburg.

Mariner’s Cove Marina is located on Boca Ciega Bay and 10 minutes from the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and the Gulf of Mexico. It also has ease of access to the Florida Intracoastal Waterway.

The marina offers dry storage, and amenities include a fueling station, fish cleaning station, all aluminum floating dogs, work racks and boat fire sprinklers.

The South Florida Business Journal reports The City of St. Petersburg has put out feelers to upgrade its dated marina adjacent to the St. Pete’s Pier. Suntex, one of two companies to respond, has proposed $70 million in improvements to the marina in its proposal with a 30-year lease and two renewals. The proposal, and that of the other company, still has to go in front of the Mayor and council for a vote.

Suntex’s portfolio includes approximately 60 marinas across the country, including nearly 20 in Florida.
