Former Mariano’s Exec to Open Third Dom’s Kitchen & Market

Dom’s Kitchen & Market, the next-generation supermarket co-founded by Mariano’s founder Bob Mariano, announced it is planning a third location in Chicago’s River North area.

Expected to open in the summer of 2024, the store will be on the ground floor of One Superior Place in a former Whole Foods Market. The 25,000-square-foot location will offer curated market products, chef-crafted meals, and in-store dining.

Dom’s Kitchen & Market opened its flagship 17,800-square-foot location in the Lincoln Park neighborhood in 2021. The company followed with a second 27,000-square-foot store in Old Town last year.

“As our footprint in Chicago grows, so does the Dom’s team, and our ability to support local vendors, serve our community, and create new job opportunities. With the opening of Dom’s River North, we anticipate creating 150 new full and part-time jobs. Dom’s takes great pride in being a Chicago independent kitchen and market innovating the meal shopping experience,” said CEO Donald Fitzgerald.
