4 partners team up on Mesa mixed-use project

Multiple Partners Team Up on Mesa Mixed-Use Center

The activity will be centered at the corner of Signal Butte Road and Southern Avenue in East Mesa. The group wants to develop multifamily rental units and a shopping center with restaurants.

The Phoenix Business Journal reports Vivo Partners, Hawkins Cos., Greystar Worldwide and Bela Flor Communities are proposing Medina Station. The companies are proposing 851 residential units and nearly 250,000 square feet of commercial space across four parcels within the 60-acre site. The site, initially slated for a Super Target, has sat vacant for years.

Greystar would build out one of the parcels, including 165 “active adult” apartments to be called Album Mountain Vista. The apartments are designed for residents aged 55 years and older who want to maintain an active lifestyle. Hawkins would also develop apartments. Vivo Partners would helm shops, in-line retail, eight pad sites and a mixture of full and limited-service restaurants.
