LG Group Poised to Repurpose Former Walgreens Deerfield Site
LG Group, a Chicago-based integrated development company, has plans for vacant office property in Deerfield, where the company is eyeing a large mixed-use complex with entertainment and retail uses, reported Crain’s Chicago Business.
LG is under contract to buy the former Walgreens Boots Alliance office buildings at 1411-1435 Lake Cook Road in the northern suburb. The deal is said to be contingent upon the village of Deerfield’s approval for a planned redevelopment of the 37.5-acre site. The site currently includes five empty office spaces totaling more than 575,000 square feet.
The buildings LG is under contract to buy are separate from Walgreens’ existing headquarters, which is just west of the property on Wilmot Road. Walgreens earlier this year disclosed that it plans to sell off roughly two-thirds of its headquarters campus and consolidate workers into the remaining portion.
