Kimco Signs Mexican Grocery Chain to Hayward Shopping Center
Kimco Realty said its Creekside Center, an 80,000-square-foot open-air shopping center in Hayward, soon will house Las Montañas Supermarket, a family owned and operated grocery store with Mexican foods and specialty grocery items. The new 23,334-square-foot grocer is expected to open on the northwest side of the shopping center in late summer.
Additionally, Creekside Center has also undergone a cosmetic transformation that includes the addition of a new façade, metal canopies, a new pylon sign, monument signs and repainting, each designed to give the center a more contemproary look.
“One of our top priorities at Kimco is to match best-in-class retailers with the right shoppers in top locations, something we’ve certainly achieved at Creekside, where nearly one-third of the center’s target market includes Latino households that will now have a grocer dedicated to their wants and needs right in their backyard,” said Brian Alt, Kimco senior director of real estate.
