Lendlease Welcomes Residents to The Reed at Southbank in Chicago’s South Loop

According to Lendlease, a global integrated real estate group, the first residents have officially moved into The Reed at Southbank, a 41-story residential tower at 234 W. Polk Street in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood. The luxury property features modern industrial apartments and condominiums with over 25,000 square feet of amenities.

The property is a hybrid multifamily building with rental and for-sale homes. It is the second residential high-rise in Lendlease’s seven-acre Southbank master plan community, helping revitalize several blocks along the Chicago River.

224 of the 440 total residences are apartments, with bedroom floor plans ranging from 544 to 1,417 square feet, with monthly rents starting at $2,205 for studios and convertibles, $2,610 for one-bedrooms, $3,880 for two-bedrooms and $5,430 for three-bedrooms. The Reed is designed to achieve LEED Gold, Fitwel, and ENERGY STAR certification and was the first building in Chicago to use a proprietary low-carbon concrete during construction.
