Dogwood Takes on San Antonio Shopping Center
On its website, the company says they are, “Experts in repositioning “broken” commercial assets.” Dogwood Commercial Real Estate closed on the Northeast Side shopping center at 8800 Broadway, its second area purchase since March. Tenants at the 355,000-square-foot shopping center include the Wonder Chamber interactive entertainment space, Mission CrossFit SA and a Zito’s Deli sandwich shop location. 8800 Broadway Plaza LLC was the seller.
The San Antonio Business Journal reported the company took out a loan of about $10.4 million as part of the transaction. The parcel’s most recent evaluation from the Bexar County Appraisal District puts the shopping center’s assessed value at about $4.2 million.
In March, the Dogwood broke into the San Antonio region with its purchase of a three-building retail portfolio in the Windcrest area, notable for its proximity to the former Rackspace headquarters building.
