90-Year-Old NJ Hinchliffe Stadium Reopens with New Affordable Senior Residences
Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson, New Jersey, has reopened after a $103 million revitalization project. Led by RPM Development Group and BAW Development, the project transformed the 90-year-old stadium into an affordable senior housing complex with improved parking and access.
The stadium, a former Negro League ballpark, is one of the last preserved in the country. It now features a 7,800-seat athletic facility, a six-story, 75-unit senior housing building, a museum, a food court, a preschool, and a parking garage. The stadium will host minor league baseball games, high school events, concerts, and more.
The project received support from officials, including U.S. Senator Cory Booker and Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh. Financing came from groups such as Goldman Sachs and U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corporation.
