Newcastle Limited in Chicago has hired Mike Tsakalakis as vice president, retail property management

Newcastle Hires VP to Oversee Retail Portfolio

Mike Tsakalakis has joined Newcastle Limited as VP, retail property management. He will oversee the strategic operations and financial performance of Newcastle’s retail portfolio. Tsakalakis will lead the retail team in managing the firm’s more than 600,000 square feet of retail space across 60 assets, accommodating 150 retail tenants. 

Steve Merchant, Newcastle Limited’s COO, said, “Mike brings with him more than three decades of proven experience in commercial real estate, with a particular emphasis on retail assets. He has an impressive track record of operational expertise, and we are thrilled to welcome him aboard as a key member of our team.” 

Before joining Chicago-based Newcastle, Tsakalakis served as director of retail operations with JLL, responsible for facility management and operations for a portfolio of super-regional malls, vertical shopping centers and lifestyle centers. Prior to joining JLL, he was director, national operations with Starwood.
