New Affordable Housing Community Opens in Irvington, NJ

A new 56-unit affordable apartment community has opened in Irvington, New Jersey, thanks to a partnership between developer Adenah Bayoh and The NRP Group. The five-story mid-rise building comprises one-, two-, and three-bedroom units with parking, with five units reserved explicitly for residents with special needs.

The building is located at 722 Chancellor Avenue near a New Jersey Transit bus stop and access to the Garden State Parkway. “This project has done wonders for the community,” said the Mayor of Irvington, Tony Vauss, at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “When we look at these projects from start to finish, we can only imagine all the residents who are going to enjoy the benefits of living in a brand new, affordable community.”

Financing partners of the project include the New Jersey Housing Mortgage Finance Agency, JPMorgan Chase Bank, Hudson Housing, The Township of Irvington and Greater Newark LISC. In addition, the Irvington Housing Authority is providing five project-based vouchers.
