Mercy College Bronx Campus Renews Lease at Simone Development’s Hutchinson Metro Center
Simone Development Companies has secured a long-term lease renewal with Mercy College for a 125,522-square-foot space at 1200 Waters Place in the Bronx, furthering the college’s commitment to the Hutchinson Metro Center and the borough. The Bronx Campus provides a modern learning environment with various undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including nursing, childhood education, community health, and cybersecurity.
Mercy College played a pivotal role in the development of 1200 Waters Place, which transformed an underutilized, obsolete state hospital site into the commercial real estate development project of Hutchinson Metro Center. The center features a mix of office, medical, retail, hospitality, and academic space and houses over 80 businesses, healthcare and educational institutions, and federal, state, and city agencies.
The lease renewal was negotiated by James MacDonald, assisted by Sean Heneghan, on behalf of Simone Metro Properties, while Bill Cuddy and Greg Maurer-Hollaender of CBRE represented Mercy College.
