Two more proposals for Chicago's "LaSalle Street Reimagined" initiative have been added for consideration by the City Council

LaSalle Street Redevelopment Plan Adds Two More Proposals

Add two more office-to-residential conversion proposals that have advanced to the next stage of the review process as part of the “LaSalle Street Reimagined” initiative, for a total of five. Celadon Partners and Blackwood Group are proposing to create 247 apartments within 105 W. Adams St., while Golub & Co. and American General Life Insurance propose 349 apartments within 30 N. LaSalle St.

“As LaSalle Street continues to evolve as one of the most distinguished and storied corridors in the Midwest, these conversions reaffirm the city’s support for innovative projects and improvements that reinforce its economic vitality for all Chicagoans,” said Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

The five re-use proposals, if approved by the Community Development Commission and City Council, would collectively represent nearly $1 billion in corridor investments. Taken together, these projects make up the largest office-to-affordable residential conversion effort yet announced in the U.S., according to the Lightfoot administration.
