Boulder Buying into the Pickleball Craze

Boulder is known as a sports town, not necessarily the spectator kind but the participation kind. Scott Fliegelman and his wife Kari Holden Fliegelman are opening a new 19,000-square-foot indoor pickleball facility, Boulder Pickleball, right in the middle of a sports facility Mecca. The couple landed on part of a warehouse near the intersection of Pearl and Foothills Parkways, near many other indoor sports facilities including The Spot Bouldering Gym, Boulder Athletics and Boulder Indoor Soccer. 

“If I were to drop a pin on a map, I probably couldn’t come up with a better spot,” Fliegelman said. Fligelman is a professional in the National Pickleball League and was also a tennis pro. He hopes to capitalize on his name and notoriety to expand the business. The facility will open in May.

At least three new pickleball entertainment developments are in the works around the Denver area.
