Dual-branded 370-foot Hilton project going up in Austin

Dual-Branded Hilton Hotels Green-Lighted in Austin

A joint venture of two established hospitality-focused developers have been given the thumbs up by an Austin oversight commission. Atlanta-based Peachtree Group and Austin’s Merritt Development Group are proposing a site with two Hilton-branded hotels on it. The 370-foot building at 415 Lavaca St. is planned to include an Embassy Suites and a Tempo by Hilton, combining for 489 rooms.

The project is being designed by architecture firm DLR Group with help from Austin-based landscape architecture firm Nudge Design. The project will not include any parking spaces. According to the Austin Business Journal, developers say the transit network is robust enough at the location.

The hotel tower will include amenities such as restaurants, a bar and a cafe. It is also planned to include a fitness center in the upper levels of the building. There could also be an observation deck on the upper levels.
