Party-themed Moxy Hotel to open in Phoenix

Party-Themed Hotel to Open in Phoenix

A new Downtown Phoenix hotel stresses having fun the second you walk in the door. The bartender will serve you a drink when you check in. That’s the vibe The Moxy Downtown Phoenix is after.

The Phoenix Business Journal reports that the hotel is set to open in June. The hotel, which is located on nine floors of the historic Luhrs Building in downtown Phoenix, is trying to be a unique hospitality property. The Moxy rooms are not overly spacious or roomy. The 164 rooms are smaller, each featuring bunk beds, twins and just a single queen bed. It’s meant to be a place to go to before and after a show. Besides the bar, there is a game area on the ground floor along with a fitness center.

The hotel building was purchased in 2019 for $14 million. Overall, the project cost more than $40 million to develop. The Moxy brand is under the Marriott International Inc. umbrella.
