Local San Antonio Investor Picks Up Two Retail Centers
Headwall Investments has picked up number nine and ten when it comes to neighborhood retail centers, located either in Austin on San Antonio. The last two are Class A centers, the Town & Country Shopping Center at 10350 Bandera Road and De Zavala Oaks at 5860/5886 DeZavala Road. The firm executed the acquisitions using a fund that targets similar retail properties.
The San Antonio Business Journal reported that while the terms of the deals were not disclosed, the Bexar County Appraisal District’s 2023 valuations pin the value of Town & Country and De Zavala Oaks at about $12.7 million and $8 million, respectively.
Headwall is preparing to raise the first round of $20 million in the next 30 days to scale their investment plan to the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston markets, with the intention of raising $100 million total. The program boils down to the supply and demand imbalance that are affecting retail markets everywhere.
