Cortland Opens New Phase of Development in Miami Area

Cortland, a multifamily real estate investment, development, and management company, has opened its newly built phase of Cortland South Kendall, an upscale apartment community in one of the fastest growing areas of Miami.

The Atlanta-based multifamily firm bought the community, formerly known as Mareas, along with the nearly 10-acre site for the second phase from Ram Realty Services in November 2021. The total number of homes at Cortland South Kendall is now 600.

In addition to its 36 Florida communities, Cortland has five development projects with more than 1,750 units currently under construction in Florida. The project team for this second phase of Cortland South Kendall included general contractors Kaufman Lynn Construction, Roger Fry Architects, Kimley Horn Engineers, and Katchi Interior Design.

Cortland South Kendall is surrounded by a 50-acre nature preserve. It offers walkability to dining and shopping plus convenient access to Florida’s turnpike and Miami’s business district.
