Study: Coworking Spaces Abundant in DTLA

Study: Coworking Spaces Abundant in DTLA

The pandemic has shifted the work environment so much, that many experts say the traditional downtown office work patterns will never be the same. A solution has been coworking spaces, where gig-economy workers, freelancers and even large companies can set up shop and share a single office space without having the financial burden of leasing a full office.

With this in mind, CoworkingCafe ranked the top 20 cities in the U.S. with the highest concentrations of flexible office space in their core business sectors, and Los Angeles ranks 4th nationally, with 29 coworking spaces in the central business district, representing 31% of the city’s inventory.

The study found that most of the flex workspaces are in the Financial District and Bunker Hill, but several others are located in the Arts District, Fashion District, South Park and Little Tokyo. Overall, the West Coast totaled 83 coworking spaces in downtown areas from San Diego to Seattle.
