Affordable Senior Rental Project Begins to Take Shape in Austin

Arbor Park is expected to open in late 2023. The four-story, $17 million housing facility is being developed by DMA Development Company, LLC, in North Austin. The mixed-income project is designed for older adults (55+), empty nesters and out-of-town or out-of-state seniors. Of the 147 units, some will be for tenants with incomes below 30% of the area’s median income, some at or below 50%, some at or below 80% and some at market rate.

“The management team for the building will provide a number of activities for residents ranging from movie nights to community meals to art classes,” DMA’s Mark Gilbert said.

The senior living development will have a large community area with a kitchen and a library is centrally located at the ground floor. Additional amenities include a private courtyard, fitness center, floor lounges, laundry facilities, and high ceilings.
