KoMiCo to expand Round Rock facility, spend $30M, add 70 workers

South Korean Tech Company to Expand Round Rock Facility

The Round Rock City Council okayed an economic development agreement with KoMiCo Technology that will result in a minimum of $30 million in new investment and at least 70 new jobs created. KoMiCo has operated in the city since 2007. The company cleans, coats and repairs semiconductor parts.

Under the agreement the company will invest $30 million in property improvements and business personal property at its location at 201 Michael Angelo Way. The company must have $15 million completed of the investments by Dec. 31, 2023, and the remaining $15 million by Dec. 31, 2024. It is expected that the company will add 40,000 square feet to its 62,000 square-foot facility. Additionally, KoMiCo must add 70 employees to its current 180 employee pool by Dec. 31, 2025.

“KoMiCo is proud to partner with the city of Round Rock in further establishing the Silicon Hills as the most technologically advanced semiconductor manufacturing region in the United States,” said KoMiCo’s James Jin.
