Round Rock Medical Center Site for Major Expansion
A $53.1 million expansion of the St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, bringing two additional floors to the large hospital, is underway. The additional floors will be home to a 34-bed patient care unit, four operating rooms and additional support spaces. The expansion is one of several planned as part of a larger $953 million capital investment announced in February.
“The additional floors will increase room capacity and provide more availability for specialty care,” said St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center’s Jeremy Barclay.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2023, bringing the total height of the hospital building to five stories. Once completed, the hospital will have over 200 beds, 11 operating rooms and space for two additional rooms in the future. The hospital will also hire more than 60 new employees over the next two years.
