Great Wolf Resorts To Build Waterpark Venue Outside Houston
National indoor waterpark company Great Wolf Resorts Inc. will open its second Texas resort in 2024 in the city of Webster just outside Houston. The first Texas Great Wolf venture was built in Grapevine, in the DFW area.
The project will mark the first major construction for the city’s expansive destination development project, Flyway. The more than 70-acre Flyway development will include entertainment, dining, recreation and sports entertainment venues.
Once built, the Great Wolf development will bring 500 permanent full- and part-time jobs to the Webster community. “This is the largest and most important project in our city’s history,” Webster Mayor Donna Rogers said. The construction will take roughly 24 months, and the resort is expected to open in mid- to late 2024.
The lodge will feature a 532-room resort, a 95,000-square-foot indoor water park, a 58,000-square-foot entertainment center called the Great Wolf Adventure Park and a 11,000-square-foot conference center. The project included a generous incentive package from the town, county and state.
