Champion Real Estate Enters NC with $43M Buy of Wake Forest University Student Housing
Champion Real Estate Company has completed its $43-million purchase of Villages at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, NC. The 62 parcel/75-unit portfolio consisting of single-family homes and duplexes that serve as Wake Forest University student housing directly across from campus.
Scott Clifton and Stewart Hayes of JLL represented both buyer and seller.
The property, which will be rebranded as Victory at Wake Forest, is the company’s first student housing community in NC. Champion has acquired over 1,500 beds at four different universities during 2022.
“Victory at Wake Forest is in tremendous demand with most leases signed two years prior to move-in,” said Garrett Champion, Executive Vice President with Champion Real Estate Company. “We will continue to make strategic student housing acquisitions at Tier 1 universities in supply constrained markets.”
Champion Wake Forest, LLC, a subsidiary of Champion Real Estate Company, will operate the property. Units are fully furnished and leased by the bed.
