Principle Construction Finalizes Renovation and Addition to South Elgin Warehouse

Principle Construction recently completed construction on a 78,000-square-foot warehouse improvement and office addition at 440 S. McClean Blvd. in South Elgin, IL The building was previously deteriorating, but owner Middleby Companies and tenant CV-Tek improved tit to create a state-of-the-art 56,000-square-foot warehouse with 22,000 square feet of office space.

The new building includes a new electrical distribution system for computerized manufacturing equipment, enhanced lighting with 60-foot candles, and two-part architectural quality epoxy flooring. The Principle team modified the existing CMU and brick veneer masonry wall to provide drive-in truck access for the tenant, a food packaging manufacturer, and also improved the deteriorating roof mounted HVAC grillage system to support 30 tons of new RTU equipment.

“Food packaging is a continually changing business and having a new space to grow was essential for CV-Tek,” said Principle COO Mark Augustyn, who served as principal on the project.
