Monarch Beach Resort’s $30M Makeover Nearly Complete

Ohana Real Estate Investors is in the final phase of a $30 million guest room makeover of the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club in Dana Point, CA. Ohana purchased the property in 2020 for $497 million, and expects the remodel to be completed this month.

The Orange County Register reports that each of the resort’s 400 rooms and suites will be getting new flooring and furnishings, and the ground-level rooms will get new fireplaces as well. In addition, 20 of the Studio Suites will be converted to one-bedroom units, featuring a separate living room and a private terrace.

Monarch Beach Resort, which is managed by Hilton, first opened in 2001 under the St. Regis brand. The resort sits on 162 acres and overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The property includes a 6-acre beach club, three swimming pools and is surrounded by the Monarch Beach Golf Links.
